The Cilento sea is among the cleanest in Europe and is a World Marine Biosphere Reserve.
The coast of the National Park also boasts two other highly important recognitions: two Marine Protected Areas.
One opens the Cilento Coast to the north, while the other closes it to the south: Santa Maria di Castellabate and the Infreschi and Masseta Coast.
These are exceptional marine environments, where meadows of Posidonia oceanica meet coralligenous formations, gorgonians, madrepores, and thousands of other animal and plant species.
The coastline features bays, coves, ravines, caves, sheer cliffs, and wild, pristine, unforgettable beaches.
It holds invaluable naturalistic but also historical value: well-known since ancient times, these places are now rich in archaeological finds.
They are magical spots whose legendary beauty has won multiple awards.
From Punta Licosa, Pozzallo Beach, Cala Bianca, and Infreschi Bay, to the impressive series of beaches and coves of the Masseta—Molara Beach, Water Cave Beach, Carcarella Beach, Twin Beaches, Gabbiani Beach, Valloncello Beach, Sciabica Beach, Resima Beach, Marcellino Beach, Cala dei Morti Cove, Mariola Cove, and Cala Longa Cove—all have received the most prestigious awards, including Legambiente's 5 Sails, Blue Flags, and the Most Beautiful Beach in Italy.
Calling them paradises on earth is an understatement!
